Smart Veritas Delivers 2026 Offshore Cable Jointing Campaign in the North Sea

Smart Veritas delivered full-scope engineering for an offshore cable jointing campaign in the North Sea this year, supporting the operation from early engineering through to offshore execution aboard the jointing vessel.

Building on our 2025 cable jointing campaign, our team delivered the complete engineering package required to bring cable ends together safely and efficiently offshore:

• Jointing analysis covering cable recovery, jointing, and overboarding operations
• Lead engineering across the campaign, coordinating deliverables and interfaces throughout
• Equipment interface management between the jointing spread, vessel systems, and back-deck equipment
• Rigging arrangements for cable handling and lifting operations
• Storyboards setting out step-by-step offshore procedures for the jointing sequence
• Deck layouts and general arrangement drawings for the jointing vessel back deck

Offshore execution was supported directly by Smart Veritas personnel, with a Project Engineer and Operations Manager seconded aboard the vessel for the duration of the campaign — the same hands-on delivery model that has proven effective across our previous jointing and installation projects.

Cable jointing remains one of the most interface-heavy operations in subsea cable installation, demanding close coordination between analysis, deck engineering, and the offshore team. Delivering these scopes together under one engineering package reduces interface risk and keeps procedures, layouts, and analysis consistent from desk to deck.
