PIPELINE INSTALLATION
Pipeline Installation
Project engineering, procedure development, equipment specification, drafting support and operational support for subsea pipeline installation projects.
Smart Veritas provides project engineering support for subsea pipeline installation projects. From initial route selection through to final as-built survey, our engineers manage the engineering scope, delivering procedures, equipment specifications, drawings, and on-site operational support.
Project Engineering
We provide project engineers for pipeline installation campaigns, coordinating between installation contractors, pipe manufacturers, and asset owners. Our project engineers develop the engineering deliverable register, manage design reviews, track progress against schedule, and ensure alignment across all project phases.
Procedure Development
We develop detailed installation procedures covering pipelay, abandonment and recovery, shore pull-in, tie-in, and pre-commissioning operations. Our procedures are written by engineers with direct offshore experience and cover rigid pipe, flexible pipe, and bundled systems. All deliverables are produced to DNV standards under our ISO 9001 certified management system.
Equipment Specification
We specify and review equipment requirements for pipeline installation vessels, including tensioners, stingers, firing lines, and A&R systems. Our specifications ensure compatibility between pipe properties, vessel capabilities, and the installation methodology.
Drafting Support
We provide drafting and drawing support for pipeline installation projects, including 2D/3D deck layouts, equipment arrangement drawings, pipeline routing, rigging, storyboards and other supplementary drawings. Our drawings are produced to client and regulatory standards, supporting both the engineering and operational phases of the campaign.
Operational Support
Our PE/FE engineers provide on-board operational support during pipeline installation campaigns, with direct experience using OrcaFlex for real-time analysis scopes. This enables vessel-based decision-making and continuous engineering presence throughout the installation programme to ensure safe and efficient execution.
