PIPELINE ANALYSIS
Pipeline Analysis
Pipelay analysis, on-bottom stability, freespan and buckling assessments, and shore pull-in analysis for subsea pipeline projects.
Smart Veritas provides pipeline analysis services for subsea pipeline installation and in-place design. Our engineers use OrcaFlex and in-house tools to perform detailed analysis covering the full pipeline lifecycle from installation through to operation.
Pipelay Analysis
We perform detailed pipelay analysis covering stinger configuration, lay tension requirements, sagbend and overbend stress checks, and abandonment and recovery procedures. Our analysis covers rigid pipe, flexible pipe, and bundled systems, ensuring installation loads remain within allowable limits across the full route.
On-Bottom Stability
We perform hydrodynamic stability analysis in accordance with DNV-RP-F109 to determine pipeline stability under wave and current loading. Our assessments include concrete weight coating requirements, secondary stabilisation options, and optimisation of stabilisation measures to reduce project cost.
Freespan & Buckling Assessments
We assess pipeline freespans against allowable limits for fatigue and static loading in accordance with DNV-RP-F105 and DNV-ST-F101. Our analysis covers vortex-induced vibration, lateral and upheaval buckling susceptibility, and remedial intervention design including grout bag and rock dump solutions.
Shore Pull-In Analysis
Shore approach operations require careful analysis to manage pipeline loads during pull-in. We provide pull force calculations, roller track loading assessment, and contingency analysis for the transition from offshore lay to landfall.
In-Place Analysis
For in-place conditions, we perform static and dynamic analysis of steel catenary risers (SCRs), pipeline expansion and walking assessments, and thermal and pressure-induced loading checks to ensure long-term operational integrity.
