LOAD-OUT ENGINEERING
Load-Out Engineering
Deck layouts, rigging arrangements and lift plans, transpooling and cable load-out analysis, and PSV transfer support for offshore installation campaigns.
Smart Veritas provides detailed load-out engineering for offshore installation campaigns. From quayside to vessel deck, our team delivers the analysis and documentation needed to execute safe, efficient load-out operations.
Deck Layouts
Our engineers produce optimised deck layouts that account for cargo dimensions, vessel stability, access requirements, and operational sequencing. We work with vessel operators to maximise deck utilisation while maintaining safe clearances and access routes.
Rigging Arrangements & Lift Plans
We develop rigging arrangements and comprehensive lift plans for equipment, structures, and ancillary items loaded onto installation vessels. Each plan includes sling and shackle selections, rigging configurations, crane capacity checks, lift radii, and sequencing to ensure operations remain within safe working limits. Our plans cover individual and tandem lifts with weight reports, centre of gravity calculations, and dynamic amplification factors, developed in coordination with vessel crane operators for offshore execution.
Transpooling & Cable Load-Out
We perform load-out/transpooling analyses covering cable transfer between storage facilities and vessel carousels/baskets or vessel to vessel transfers. We perform time domain dynamic simulations to deeply understand cable integrity for various back tensions or water depth targets for the cable belly. We also perform fleet angle assessments, quayside mooring analysis and contingency assessments to understand reaction times. Combined, we ensure product integrity.
PSV Transfers & Alongside Loading
We engineer alongside operations where supply vessels such as PSVs moor alongside installation vessels for cargo transfer. Our scope covers mooring arrangements between vessels, fender configuration, rigging arrangements and lift plans for transferring pipe stalks, equipment and other cargo to pipelay vessels or construction vessels. We assess relative motion between vessels, crane reach and capacity at working radii, and develop operational limits and procedures to ensure safe transfer in the offshore environment.
